MERCURIAL VAPOR IX SPEED TRIALS

Being fast is not enough anymore. You have to #BeMercurial.

NIKE Football welcomed some of the top footballers from within the Soweto LFA to test their mettle and prove their speed in the Mercurial Vapor IX trials. Over 60 of the quickest young athletes pushed themselves to the limit, participating in the Cristiano Ronaldo Challenge: a drill designed by CR7 himself to test speed, ball control and agility (http://bit.ly/914f6I). The fastest 6 would earn themselves a speeding ticket to the Mercurial Vapor IX Players Lounge at the Cross Trainer Store in Eastgate, featuring some of the nations most Mercurial athletes, including Itumeleng Khune and Lerato Chabangu.

Using their very own innovative performance tracking technology called SPARQ, NIKE Football found the fastest young men in Soweto with a ball at their feet. Xolisile Hele clocked in at 16.40 seconds on the Cristiano Ronaldo Challenge, setting the pace and earning himself the right to keep his brand new speed weapons in the process.

Tune in to Nike Football ZA and Cross Trainer for the Players Lounge on Thursday 14th February. Catch the action live with @nikefootballza and @CrosstrainerSA on Twitter.
